Introduction

Hexarelin is a synthetic peptide that has garnered interest in the fields of bodybuilding, anti-aging, and general wellness.

Known for its potent growth hormone-releasing properties, Hexarelin offers numerous potential benefits.

Today we will dive all into hexarelin and go into what you can expect from this compound, how to use this compound and how it compares to other growth hormone releasing compounds like Mk677

What is Hexarelin?

Hexarelin, also known as Examorelin, is a hexapeptide that stimulates the secretion of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland.

It belongs to a class of compounds known as growth hormone secretagogues (GHS).

Hexarelin mimics the action of ghrelin, the “hunger hormone,” which naturally stimulates GH release.

Hexarelin is thought to have a few different mechanism of action within the body and research is still being done to figure out how it fully works and to fully understand the compound

How Hexarelin Works in the Body

Hexarelin binds to the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R) in the pituitary gland and hypothalamus.

This binding action triggers the release of GH, which in turn stimulates the liver to produce insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1).

IGF-1 is a key player in muscle growth, fat metabolism, and overall tissue repair and regeneration. Unlike some other peptides, Hexarelin also has a potent effect on increasing the amplitude of GH pulses, leading to higher overall levels of GH in the body.

Benefits of Hexarelin

  1. Increased Muscle Mass: Hexarelin promotes muscle growth by stimulating GH and IGF-1 production, which are critical for muscle protein synthesis and hypertrophy. When using Hexarelin users can expect to speed up their muscle  build process.
  2. Fat Loss: By enhancing GH levels, Hexarelin helps increase metabolism and fat oxidation, leading to a reduction in body fat.  This is through a process known as lipolysis.
  3. Improved Recovery: Hexarelin accelerates the healing of injuries, particularly soft tissue and joint injuries, due to its regenerative properties. Users can not not only expect to recover faster from their workouts but also recover faster from more major/minor injuries.
  4. Enhanced Strength: Users often report significant gains in strength due to improved muscle mass and recovery rates. While Hexarelin does not directly impact strength the increase in recovery can help improve strength numbers.
  5. Anti-Aging Effects: Hexarelin can improve skin elasticity, reduce wrinkles, and enhance overall vitality by increasing GH levels.  Many people note their hair growing faster, and nails growing much faster on this compound
  6. Cardioprotective Effects: Some studies suggest that Hexarelin has protective effects on the heart, including improving cardiac function and reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Side Effects of Hexarelin

While Hexarelin does have tons of benefits it does carry with it some side effects.  For the most part on this compound the side effects are very minimal and manageable.

  1. Increased Appetite: Due to its ghrelin-mimicking properties, Hexarelin can significantly increase hunger.
  2. Increased Prolactin: Raising growth hormone can raise the hormone prolactin which can lead to undesirable side effects like sexual dysfunction, and various mood based issues.
  3. Increased Blood Glucose Levels: Hexarelin can also cause an increase in blood glucose which can be negative for long term health and lead to more side effects down the line.
  4. Water Retention: Some users may experience water retention, leading to temporary weight gain and bloating.
  5. Joint Pain: High levels of GH can sometimes lead to joint discomfort or pain.
  6. Gynecomastia: Increased GH and IGF-1 levels can occasionally cause gynecomastia (enlargement of male breast tissue). This is typically from the raise in prolactin.
  7. Headaches: Some users report headaches as a side effect.
  8. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Prolonged use or high doses may lead to symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome.

How to Use Hexarelin

Dosage: Hexarelin is typically administered via subcutaneous injection. The common dosage range is 100-200 mcg per day, though some users may go up to 400 mcg. It’s advisable to start at a lower dose to assess tolerance and how well you respond to the compound. As a beginner I would definitely start at 100 mcg 3 times per day and then slowly work up to around 200-300 mcg.

Cycle Duration: Hexarelin is often used in cycles of 4-12 weeks, followed by a break to prevent desensitization of the GHS-R receptors. It is also essential to monitor your health when using this compound and if any health markers start to get out of whack make sure to cease using the compound and begin correcting the health issues.

Timing: For optimal results, Hexarelin should be pinned three times daily due to its short half.  I like to pin it once fasted, once pre workout, and then once before bed.

Ancillaries: Some important ancillaries to keep on hand for your hexarelin cycle are as follows

  1. Berberine: for blood glucose
  2. P5P: For prolactin
  3. Dandelion Root: For Water Retention

Stacking Hexarelin

Hexarelin can be stacked with other peptides and compounds to enhance its effects:

  1. CJC-1295: Combining Hexarelin with CJC-1295 (a long-acting GH-releasing hormone) can lead to a synergistic increase in GH levels. This is due to them working through two different pathways.
  2. Sarms: Hexarelin is also a great add on to sarms as it tends to work synergistically with the sarm to assist in your muscle building and or fat loss goals.
  3. TRT: Hexarelin is oftentimes paired with a trt or hrt protocol to help promote anti aging and better recovery for the individual.

Hexarelin vs. MK-677

While both Hexarelin and MK-677 stimulate GH release, there are key differences between the two:

  1. Mechanism of Action: Hexarelin is a peptide that requires injection, whereas MK-677 is an oral compound that stimulates GH release by mimicking ghrelin.
  2. Duration of Action: MK-677 has a longer half-life, leading to prolonged GH release. Hexarelin has a shorter duration of action and may require multiple daily doses for sustained effects.
  3. Appetite Stimulation: MK-677 is known to significantly increase appetite due to its ghrelin-mimicking properties. Hexarelin also increases appetite, but the effect may be less pronounced.
  4. Side Effects: Both compounds have similar side effects, including water retention and an increase in hunger.  All in all Hexarelin carries with it some side effects that come with having to innject the peptide that Mk677 does not have.

Conclusion

Hexarelin is a powerful peptide with significant potential for muscle growth, fat loss, and overall rejuvenation.

Its ability to stimulate GH and IGF-1 production makes it a valuable tool for athletes, bodybuilders, and those seeking anti-aging benefits.

While it has notable benefits, users should be aware of potential side effects and use it responsibly. Comparing Hexarelin with other compounds like MK-677 can help individuals choose the best option for their specific goals and preferences.

As always, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new peptide therapy.
